Casa Vella is located 2 km above the small market town of Arbo, where there are excellent local facilities, including supermarkets, chemists, a post office and numerous restaurants and tapas bars. In the summer you can join the locals at the large outdoor pool, which also offers sporting facilities such as tennis and basketball courts.

If you enjoy being by the sea, Casa Vella is in an ideal location. Only 50kms away is the port city of Vigo, which boasts a fine array of beaches to the North and South (Rias Baixas). If you venture slightly further North, you’ll discover the spectacular rugged coastline of the Rias Altas, including the beautiful Costa da Morte.

If you prefer mountain scenery, only a 30 min drive away is the national park of Peneda Geres with spectacular views and walks.

Of cultural interest an obvious highlight is the Galician capital of Santiago de Compostela, declared a national monument in its entirety. Also local towns such as Ribadavia, Tui and the Portuguese towns of Melgaco and Valenca offer splendid days out.
