Casa Vella is a restored granite farmhouse. We have tried to renovate it in a simple rustic way, using local materials (stone and wood) wherever possible. At the same time the house is very comfortable and contains all the facilities of a modern house.

The large kitchen/dining room is equipped with gas cooker/hob and fridge freezer. All crockery, cutlery, pots and pans are provided. Upstairs we have the living room, which has fantastic views across the valley. There is a sofa bed for additional sleeping, TV and CD/radio player. There is a double and a twin bedroom, which share a W.C and washbasin. The main bathroom, downstairs, has a bath, shower and washbasin. All bed linen and towels are provided.

From the kitchen you access the patio and lawn, which look out onto the river Mino and the Portuguese mountains. Sit under the shade of the orange tree, take in the views and relax! Garden furniture and barbecue are provided.

On the terrace above we have a small swimming pool and an area of fruit trees and woodland. A vine covered drive leads to the front of the house. Below this is the main working garden, which consists of vined terraces, fruit trees (orange, lemon, peach…) and fruit and vegetable plots.

As well as a base for exploring Galicia and Northern Portugal, Casa Vella also offers a relaxing and peaceful retreat for those lazy days!
